The GamFratesi project takes your creative impulse, from a fusion of tradition and renovation, in an experimental approach to their chosen materials and techniques. With their dual traditional training, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw upon classic Danish furniture and artisanal tradition, as well as the intellectual and classic Italian conceptual approach.
Understanding tradition and actively approaching it in the workshop makes it possible to expand it. From this cultural substrate that creates furniture that respectfully reflects tradition, it, at the same time, incorporates unique stories, symbols and associations, often expressed in a minimalistic language. GamFratesi aim to create furniture that illustrates the process and techniques that created it, and that reflects a persistent exploration of the ever-changing borderline between harmony and disharmony.
Gamfratesi studio was founded in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The studio is based in Copenhagen, although Gam and Fratesi are constantly travelling between Italy and Denmark to research and develop new projects.
