The biggest date on the world's furniture calendar always falls on a Tuesday in April, marking the start of the annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile, a week packed with events, exhibitions and presentations, where everyone who's anyone on the international furniture design and manufacturing scene comes together to keep up with the latest developments in the field.
The Salone into its 55th year, championing innovation and internationality – in fact the number of foreign exhibitors have risen again, making up almost 30% of all the manufacturers at the fair. It has clearly been an interesting edition, both in terms of the wide-ranging commercial offering from a line-up of top specialist companies on the national and international market, and in terms of the search for a balance between tradition and innovation in the name of quality and culture.
Following the success of the 2015 edition – attended by 310,840 visitors – the 2016 edition featured the Salone Internazionale del Mobile along with the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, and more than 1,300 exhibitors ranged over 150,000 square metres, split into Classic, Design and xLux sections, making for a visitor-friendly floor plan and a 360° insight into the world of furniture and furnishing accessories. The biennial EuroCucina and its collateral exhibition FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) were back, along with the International Bathroom Exhibition. Quality and figures 372.151 attendees that confirm the importance and attraction of an event that embodies the best of Italian and international furnishing.
